Genetic Factors

A bright, herbaceous cocktail that layers the grassy freshness of cilantro over the warm depth of tequila, lifted by citrus and a whisper of orange.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 parts or 45 ml cilantro-infused tequila*
  • 0.5 parts or 15 ml orange liqueur
  • 0.1 part or 5 ml fresh lime juice

Method

  1. Infuse the tequila: Combine 180 ML tequila with 20 G fresh cilantro. Leave to infuse for 24 hours, then strain.
  2. Build the drink: In a mixing glass, add 45 ml infused tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice.
  3. Stir with ice until well chilled.
  4. Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass.
  5. Garnish with a single cilantro leaf.

This infusion yields enough for four servings.
